I wasn't a massive fan of Time Crimes but thought it might get a look in if you hadn't seen it. Might have to check out Happy Accidents.ilovethatfilmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11882133059882238037noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5783954287151205399.post-39533893944786303762011-11-24T12:15:42.181-05:002011-11-24T12:15:42.181-05:00Great round-up. Source Code and Donnie Darko wouldn't make my top 5 list but other than that you have some solid choices here.

Thanks for reminding me about Happy Accidents. I remember zapping through the channels and being fascinated by it and sticking with it. I need to revisit that one.

Also nice to see some love for Frequency it is underrated but when revisiting it last year I found some flaws.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5783954287151205399.post-12865540079232295622011-11-23T21:13:44.970-05:002011-11-23T21:13:44.970-05:00Pete/Emil - I really didn't care for Timecrime...Pete/Emil - I really didn't care for Timecrimes or Primer. Both films had premises right up my alley, but thought they were so unengaging and flat. Maybe I'll give them another chance some day but those first impressions left me, well, thoroughly unimpressed.

I had never even heard of Triangle, but I *hated* Butterfly Effect. It's an ugly film, deeply cynical and gratuitous in ways that made me feel very unpleasant. Too bad. It was a cool idea!

Thanks for writing!Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12951548184115824860noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5783954287151205399.post-59483458004483104372011-11-23T16:10:14.767-05:002011-11-23T16:10:14.767-05:00Nice post! Two really good films that don't get enough attention.

Some other films along these lines that I enjoyed:

The Butterfly Effect. Gaping plot holes and Ashton Kutcher trying to play a more serious role aside, it's a fun and fairly dark film about a guy who can travel back to specific moments of his childhood by reading his journal.

Triangle. Someone once described it to me as "Groundhog Day from hell", which isn't too inaccurate. Deliciously twisted time loop film that might seem nonsensical, but it's really only leaving a lot of figuring out up to the viewer.

Primer, as mentioned by Pete above. Probably the most confusing time travel film there is, with no chance for anyone to keep up with what's going on the first time one sees it. Not great, but good and different.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5783954287151205399.post-88655088801584557752011-11-23T15:58:01.934-05:002011-11-23T15:58:01.934-05:00Have you seen Primer or Time Crimes?
